Starting as a sole proprietorship with a single Leyland truck, the company initially provided private contract transport services at Colombo International Harbour. Mr. Ranjith Ravindra
Mr. Ranjith Ravindra’s journey into the transport industry began at a young age. With no family wealth inherited or background in logistics, he entered the field by securing a contract at Colombo International Port in 1997 with a single Leyland truck. Facing numerous challenges, including fierce competition and financial struggles, he persevered, eventually purchasing his first lorry and founding Ravindra Transport. His resilience was further tested during the Sri Lankan Civil War. In 2008 and 2009, Mr. Ravindra personally drove his trucks into war zones, delivering supplies to the Sri Lankan army, even under enemy fire. His bravery and dedication earned him recognition not only for his transport services but also for his contribution to the country’s efforts during those difficult times. Today, Ravindra Transport is a leading name in Sri Lanka’s transport industry, known for its reliability and commitment. Mr. Ravindra’s story of hard work and perseverance continues to inspire many in the industry.
